Dave Hessler


Dave Hessler started his career as a police office and was inspired to make a career change after the birth of his son, who was born with Fibular Hemimelia and underwent a bilateral below knee amputation. Dave has been an Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician since 2004 and was personally trained by an ABC Certified Prosthetist, William Jeracki and through the years has gained more experience working under dozens in the field.  Dave is so happy to work with the Pediatric Specialties of Children’s Hospital and through this was able to realize his dream of helping children. Dave has been married to his wife April, a NICU nurse, for 20 years and they have two boys, Anakin (17) and Logan (12). Dave and his family enjoy the outdoors. Camping, hiking and hunting are some of his favorite activities. Dave is also a Veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Combat Engineer.

Sara Pogue

Sara Pogue is a working mother of three, got her first taste of the O&P industry when she took a job working for Orthotic Prosthetic Solutions as an office administrator for Carita Backman, CPO a prominent figure in Mastectomy Prosthetics in the Denver area.  With her family first attitude, she decided to make a move that was best for her family, but took her away from the industry for a time. In 2012 Sara found herself back with OPS. In 2015 started working with Prosthetic & Orthotic Group Colorado Pediatric Specialists continuing her role in shipping and receiving along with office administration and data entry.

Pete Waugaman

Lead Technician

Peter Waugaman has been in Orthotics and Prosthetics for 20 years. While with RDA he met and formed a loose friendship with the founders of Aspen Seating. In the spring of 2002 Peter obtained a technical job with Aspen Seating. In March of 2006 he joined Greg Smits and Michelle Harper at Colorado Pediatric O&P. He started in fabrication quickly settled in and moved to helping Greg with Patient Care. In 2015 Peter started with Prosthetic &Orthotic Group and is still with Greg Smits and crew as Lab Manager for Prosthetic & Orthotic Group Colorado Pediatric Specialists.
